How do I get a loan by taking out a 2nd mortgage on my home?
I need a loan, so I have decided to take out a 2nd mortgage on my home.. How does that work? and how long does it take to get the funds? I have never does this before..

| You will need to apply at a bank for the second (check with your current lender). You will be able to borrow the difference between your balance and 80% of the value of your house. IN other words, if your house is worth $100,000 and your balance is $75,000, you would be able to borrow up to $5,000 (80% loan to value in this case is $80,000 and $5,000 is the difference).
Basically, the application process is the same as when you took out your mortgage 0 you will need an appraisal, credit checks and have to pay all the same closing costs. |
