If this is a mortgage, you should not have to pay a fee up front except for an appraiser, you pay that to the appraiser when he gets to your front door. The other is a credit report and that should not come anywhere near $500.00. If this is a credit repair company or something in this line then that is a different story all together. You should inquire as to what the $500.00 is for and is it reimbursable if you do not get a loan through them. In my opinion if this is a loan and they are asking for money up front this is a scam.
