It is good that you have taken the first step ie, decided to do business! Thus eliminating several option like becomming an employee, actor, singer etc etc. Now you have to have your own brain-storming session first followed by your close friends and well-wishes and stakeholders/promoters. Please take a paper and pen and write which will give you clarity of thinking. Why business? Which business? Where? With what investment? How to get the total requirement of funds - source - from family, friends, Loans (Banks etc). How much you expect by way of return? Do you have previous experience? Then legalities - permissions- premeses-etc How much time you can invest? Do you want to manage by yourselves- What sort of organization reqwuired? How many people? Job descriptions - Wage structure etc With all this information prepare your intent document or a draft proposal and take it to a banker. Your local SCORE office and SBA office have counselors who can assist you for free. Before thinking about a loan you need to first apply for your business DBA, EIN etc.

Go to http://www.score.org/ and in the upper left hand corner, enter your zip code. On the next screen, you will get information on the nearest SCORE chapter. Call them and arrange for a free meeting with a SCORE counselor. SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). SCORE has 389 chapters in locations throughout the United States and its territories, with 10,500 volunteers nationwide. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate time and expertise as business counselors.
