How do I find the best bank for a home morgage? im looking for a bank to get a home morgage, how do I go about finding out wich one will be better? Do different banks have different rates? I do not know where to start? Would I shop around?Any answers would be greatly appreciated!!!! thank-you Any other home buying advise too ;)

all banks will have different rates/costs. ask for a GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE. a lot of lenders hide their costs in their 'spreadsheets' or presentations. ask for a GOOD FAITH ESTIMATE. Compare the 800 lines to see what the lender is charging you. The 1100 lines are 3rd party costs...and the lender will be depending on YOUR title company/attorney for those figures. Make sure to shop around for a title company/attorney for closing. *You cant ask for a good faith estimate if you dont fill out a full application..and they have to pull your credit. Brokers can shop with different lenders..and help you get a good rate
