Is it worse for your credit score to pay your morgage 20 days out or car payment 30 days past due? I have to make a choice. My mortgage was due on first not charged late fees until 16th-but can't pay both car and mortgage. Do morgage co's report you as late if your are 20 days out??

You will only be reported if you are a full 30 days out. So make the car payment.

I have been in the same situation. The best thing to do is to pay the mortgage first. You need more the house than anything. For the car payment they don't report it after 30 days. The other option that you have for the car payment is call then and scheduled the payment over the phone, make sure to provide the rigth day the money is going to be available, you don't want to over draw your bank account. Another option is for next time you can call the bank (for your car) and tell them to move up your car payment due date. That way you wont have this problem again. The good thing is that we get pay this month three times (if is biweekly) . Good look!

Skippy, u are missing the point. u are paycheck to paycheck broke. u'll lose the car or the house. u need a budget that is simple - cash in =s cash out. out of cash stop spending. suggest u visit daveramsey.com to learn ur hard lessons from others mistakes. get 2nd job to get caught up and save money. cause u'll have to chose between living in the car or the house. pay ur mortgage first allways. cars are easier replacable.

No they do not, you must be at least 30 days past due to be reported as late.

Why not pay on-time like you agreed and promised to do when you were granted the loans? Be financially responsible!

If you will have the means to pay the mortgage in 9 days PAY THE CAR NOTE 1st! you can only be reported if your payment is 30 days late. Once it's reported, it's there for 7yrs. If you have to make a choice of the 2 evils and both will be 30 days late pay the one that is the most. If you only addtnl time to pay the mortg. (9dys), pay the car today and mortg in 9 days and nothing can be reported.
