Question
How do we stop finance companies from calling to refinance our home? We have not asked for a refinance for over 6 wks. We are getting at least 2-3 calls a day from different lenders. They say they just got an e-mail on the day they call. We are NOT interested.

Get on the National Do-Not-Call list.

The Do Not Call Registry isn't going to help if you did an online inquiry where the online place sends it out to who knows how many lenders trying to match the best one with your needs. That counts as you inviting those calls and are not subject to the registry. Just say "We have decided not to refinance. Please remove me from your list."

You can register with the national Do Not Call list. The phone number is 1-888-382-1222 or go to their website at www.donotcall.gov. The registry prohibits telemarketers from calling phone numbers on the list. I called and registered my phone and it took a little while (not long) and most of the phone calls have stopped. Now I only get phone calls from the exempt organizations. When they call I just tell them to remove me from their list. I don't know if they do or not, but I hope so! Hope this helps!

Honestly you should change your number the national do not call will not always work. They keep selling you info to all mortgage companies and telemarketer. I am sorry, they tell us as a loan officer you called them or went on line so we get played on both ends. I truly know how you feel I have been on both ends of the phone. Good luck with it, and I do apologize for all Loan officer who get you and don't know you did not want to be called.
