| First and foremost... payoff collections and open accounts. That will stabilize your credit. Next, get a LOW limit credit card and only use it when you have the cash to pay for something. Charge it, then go right home and use the cash to send a check in for payment or often times you can pay right online. I just went through all this to try and get a motgage. Good luck. |

| Find out how you got in the situation with bad credit. They get rid off all of your credit card debt. If you want to keep your accounts open, get rid of the credit cards so you cant run up more credit
If you have a foreclosure or bankruptcy or something catastrophic like that, then it takes time! Bankruptcy's stay for 7-10 years. In the time that your negative items are on your report, start a positive trend of paying your bills on time and eliminate your bad debt. Also limit the amount of times you apply for credit because that lowers your score as well |

| I had to file for bankruptcy 2 yrs ago so my credit was like a negative #. I just made sure I made all of my payments on time, & stay away from fast cash loans. Also, i heard mortgages are good for your credit |
