can i still get student loans after I've had a foreclosure on a home? My wife and I are planning to go to school full-time, but our house is going into foreclosure. After the house goes into foreclosure will we still be able to get student loans?

You can obtain student loans as long as the school is eligible and you do not owe the government money: You are eligible for funds if: You have not defaulted on student loans (Perkins/Stafford/consolidated) You do not owe taxes You have not been convicted of a felony Start with completing your FAFSA (www.fafsa.ed.gov) and complete the requested information. If you are not sure of the school you want to attend, list the school(s) you are interested in applying. Your FAFSA will search for free money (grants) and tell you how much funding is available. Once you decide on the school you want to attend, make an appointment with the Financial Aid Office (FAO) as they can answer any questions and help you complete (and navigate) the student loan process.
