Grant and scholar is similar, you don't have to pay back, they work as a gift of cash. In other hand, loan will required you to pay back, and student loans probably would not charge you interest. It is like giving you free money for you to further your studies whereas loans is like normal loans whereby you have to pay back sometimes with interests and sometimes without.
